Butterfly Fishing

The attempt to catch a butterfly with a fishing rod, or that near-impossibility, would show a wish to enter a world of fantasy. Turning one’s back on the real world in order to experience what is “possible” is also a way of “being-in-the-world.” It is through our existence in the world that we are able to escape “elsewhere.”

La tentation d’attraper un papillon avec une canne à pêche, voire cette quasi-impossibilité, serait une volonté d’affronter le monde imaginaire. Tourner le dos au monde réel afin de rencontrer ce qui est « possible » est aussi une manière d’être-au-monde. Car c’est à travers notre existence au monde que nous parvenons à nous échapper « ailleurs ».
